Event Details
On Friday evening, Oprah will take to the stage to share her personal story, speaking of the things that have happened to her throughout her life in ways you’ve never heard them before. She’ll talk openly and candidly about her “calling” and her place in the world, how she finds empowerment where others might find failure, and why she never stops working at fulfilling her life’s purpose. She will share how she came to accept herself as she is, and why it is important that she live her “best possible life” in everything she does. You will experience an intimate evening with the woman the world fell in love with during 25 years of the “Oprah” show and who founded OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network.
On Saturday, Oprah’s hand-selected Trailblazers will fill Philips Arena with hope and inspiration, as they lead the audience into the light of discovering their life’s purpose and tapping into the inner courage needed to fulfill that purpose. Deepak Chopra, along with best-selling authors Elizabeth Gilbert (Eat, Pray, Love), Rob Bell (Love Wins and What We Talk About When We Talk About God) and Iyanla Vanzant (Forgiveness: 21 Days to Forgive Everyone for Everything), whose weekly OWN series “Iyanla: Fix My Life” is one of the network’s most popular, will share their tools for transformational living. It will be a full day of uplifting and inspired life-changing interaction as these great creative and spiritual minds share how to find joy in the smallest moments of each and every day, exercise the power of forgiveness, how to discover and obtain what matters most in your life, and so much more.
I will be there and I can’t wait to see Deepak Chopra, Elizabeth Gilbert, and Oprah herself in person! Eat, Pray, Love was one of the my favorite books and Deepak is kind of a genius. Oprah is amazing and I used to watch her show every day after school so obviously if I can find a way to shmooze my way into her friend group I will. So be sure to enter to win tickets below so we can hang out at this life changing weekend!

I want a second change at being a grandfather to my daughter’s child. I was tormented, thinking I really do want a relationship with my older children but because of my vain conversation coupled with lies they won’t believe that I have changed. I was thinking how selfish I was as a father, hearing those men speak about their father and struggles hurt me more. I am tormented thinking I am forty eight and have not talk or seen my granddaughter but I talk to her mother sometimes. It is a hurting feeling know your granddaughter is so close, yet so far away. This show make me realize , I gave up a long time ago, I gave up on me, I was around but I choose not to be around my children, to be honest I could not provide for my family so instead of being a man I just blamed other things. Never taking responsibility, I using the street as an excuse not to be a father and in the long run it cost me dearly. It has been awhile since I felt so free for a lone time I felt like I was in a prison without wall. I discovered the life-changing antidote and it came in the form of the show “Fatherless Son’s”. But how do I face my own sensation and fear? I have a better perspective but that does not change the fact that I will see death before I see my both daughters or even my granddaughter. Funny, even when you try with all your heart to be remorseful , why does it seem never to be enough?
To publish a book I wrote that is centered on understanding God’s purpose and His righteousness. In doing so, we as father s can make better decisions in how we handle being a parent. You cannot be vindicated or justified when living so ignorant in how you treat the ones you love. We as fathers must be accountable and passionate in how we show love rather than being a father that does not care about his children or himself. The poetic memoir is about a bad father’s confession in a written expression of how he feels. It is not just a statement of things I did wrong but a declaration that pieces together a memoir that reads the same as a spiritual novel. An African American man desiring reconciliation to his children but the great achievement would be having Oprah Winfrey herself talk about the on her famous Book Club.
I want to be happy with my husband and have a job where I am helping people and making a difference. 🙂
