Sadly, it’s still pretty hot (and muggy) here in Atlanta despite my kicking off of the fall season with my huge fall haul. I thought maybe buying warmer clothes would make the weather cool off but… I was wrong. So we’re stuck in this in between season where it’s cold-ish in the mornings and hot as July in the daytime. What are we supposed to do with that? Pick up these three fall transition pieces for a stocked wardrobe.
The duster cardigan is basically an exact replacement for the summer duster kimono. It’s a bit thicker, a bit longer and layers perfectly. I love wearing my long kimonos and cardigans with cutoff shorts to balance the heat and as soon as I can bear it, I replace the shorts with skinny jeans. Look for lightweight, cotton blends for early fall and thicker, wool cardigans for winter.
I’ve been trying to incorporate more hats into my wardrobe, especially since I only like to wash my hair once a week. Hats are perfect for hiding greasy roots but they’re equally as perfect for making any outfit look a little bit cozier. I love dark and muted colors in felt or wool materials. This one was found in the Dollar Spot!
Leather Sneakers and Booties
While it’s true these shoes work all year round, there’s just something about booties and leather sneakers that scream fall and winter! I love my sandals, don’t get me wrong, but once I’m off the hook for what my toe nail polish looks like, I’m a happy girl. These sneakers were also a score at less than $10!
