Happy 2020! This year will be the next one yet; I can feel it. And it’s not just because I’m a numbers person and 2020 is a good one. Here’s a recap of some of my reader’s favorite moments of 2019 and a few of my goals moving into 2020.
I did this post last year and loved how it turned out, so here we are for 2020!

Goals for 2020
Health
Decrease body fat. I have a certain percentage I want to hit, and I’ve made it a much more attainable goal than years previous. I like to focus on body fat instead of weight, because I want to continue to get stronger but focus on getting leaner and eating the right foods.
Achieve specific CrossFit movements. Although my goal last year was to do a pull-up, and I kind of did one kipping pull-up once, this one is back on the list for me. I want to be able to string together at least 2 strict pull-ups. Pull-ups seem like the ultimate in fitness, so that’s why it makes another appearance. I also want to work on my double-unders and be confident enough in that skill to be able to do whole workouts with all double-unders!
- String together 2+ strict pull-ups
- 50+ unbroken double-unders
- Do 3+ workouts with double-unders without resorting to singles
Achieve specific CrossFit max lifts. As part of my goal to get stronger, I want to focus more on max weights and pushing myself to lift heavier.
- 175# back squat
- 165# front squat
- 125# shoulder to overhead
- 215# deadlift
- 100# benchpress
Life
Travel four times. Unfortunately, I didn’t hit this goal last year, but I got close! I already have quite a few ideas in mind; I’m quite the wanderluster.
- New York City (possibly as my solo trip before I turn 30?)
- Michigan (to visit my family)
- Snowy Mountains (I’ve never been skiing!)
- Sunny Beach (I’d love to go somewhere for my 30th!)
Pay off one credit card. I’m always working on my spending habits and I worked very hard in 2019 to reduce my credit spending. This year I’ll pay off at least one credit card completely (and not add to it!).
Read 12 books. I didn’t have any reading goals for 2019, and it shows. I just want to read one book a month! I miss reading, and the fact that my local library closed for renovations for the entire year really put a damper in my reading. It opens back on January 3rd, just in time!
Thank you so much for supporting my dreams, my content and my ideas in 2019. Without my readers, friends and family, I wouldn’t have been able to achieve so much this past year. Here’s to many more new memories and achievements in the New Year!
